Just for Kids

We love our children at GPC and believe that they are a blessing from God.  Our purpose for each of our children is to make them disciples of Jesus Christ.   Our purpose is not purely entertainment,  but we do want to have fun.  Our purpose is not to just provide babysitting, but we do want to provide a safe environment.  We want children at GPC to enjoy going to church and learning to be a part of worshipping community.

Every Sunday morning, we offer

  • Nursery for children who are not walking
  • Nursery for children who are walking (up to age three)
  • Children's Teaching for preschool through second grade

Children are a part of our covenant community and we believe it is important for them to see their parents worshipping and to be curious about Christ through their observation and participation of such elements as singing, praying, and the Lord's Supper.   We want to be actively evangelizing and discipling the children that God has given us.   We want to come alongside parents in their God given role to tell their children the wonderful news of Jesus Christ.

Sunday Morning Small Groups - 9:30 AM

Older Elementary
Topic:God's Grace in the Law
Teachers:Mark Byers
Description: The Ten Commandments do not just suddenly appear in Exodus 20. They were given by the Lord to the people he had redeemed from slavery in Egypt. He led them through the wilderness to Mt. Sinai, where he spoke to them. Elementary students will study the Ten Commandments in great depth introducing them to the requirements and prohibitions of each commandment through the Westminster Shorter Catechism. They will be shown how God wants them to live and that obedience brings freedom and joy, that those who lack faith need Christ for salvation for the penalty of breaking the law, and that they must trust Jesus not their own works for their acceptance with God.
Location: Classroom 2 (Roundtable Room)
Younger Elementary
Topic:Pleasing God
Teachers:Lana Thames
Description: Younger Elementary students will study the Ten Commandments looking at a Bible story each week that illustrates a commandment discovering how it applies to a concrete, everyday situation. The time will focus on their relationship with God and also their relationship to their neighbors. They will be shown that they cannot keep the commandments perfectly learning that only Jesus kept them and that they need Jesus as their savior.
Location: Classroom 1(Toddler Room)
A nursery is available and will be staffed by workers and volunteers.
