Meet the Real Jesus!

 January 22-May 6 2012

9:30-10:30 AM

Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to connect and grow in your relationship with Christ and one
another! There are groups for every age group with great studies to meet the real Jesus and to be challenged by him. See descriptions below.

Adult

Topic:  Deeper & Discussion on the Gospel of Matthew

Teachers:  Davy Stephenson

Description:  Join the conversation of digging deeper into some of the topics introduced from the previous Sunday sermon on Matthew. New questions and insights related to the topic will also be considered (i.e. how can we trust the Gospels to be true?). Bring your insights and questions as adults meet the real Jesus and are
challenge to apply His words to their lives in a practical way.

Location:  Ekklesia Coffee House

College

Topic:  Jesus & College

Teachers:  Keith & Cindy McCullers

Description: Uncovering a Jesus who is brilliant, creative, challenging, fearless, compassionate,
unpredictable, and ultimately satisfying.

Location:  Grace Presbyterian

Sr. High

Topic: What Do You Think of Me? Why Do I Care?

Teachers: Bo & Nikki Bradbury

Description:  Peer pressure, codependency, shame, low self-esteem; these are just some of the words used to identify how people are controlled by others' opinions. Why is it so important to be liked? Why is rejection so traumatic? Edward T. Welch's insightful, biblical answers to these questions show that freedom from others' opinions and genuine, loving relationships grow as we learn about ourselves, others, and God.

Location:  Grace Annex

Jr. High

Topic:  The King Comes

Teachers:  Scott Perkins & Mark Shepard

Description:  How Matthew’s Gospel fulfills Old Testament promises. Students will see that God makes promises and keeps promises. They will see the beauty and unity of the Old and New Testaments and will be challenged to see that Jesus was the promised King and he invites them into his kingdom by repentance and faith.

Location:  Worship Room

Older Elementary

Topic:  Listening to Jesus

Teachers:  Mark Byers

Description:  The teachings of Jesus from the Gospels. Elementary students will learn that Jesus is God’s son who is the promised Savior who came to save us from our sins. They will learn that God is powerful, his words are true and that he wants them to follow his example of humble and loving service. They will learn what forgiveness means and that God gives them everything to be accepted into his kingdom. Finally, they will be challenged to acknowledge their sinfulness and recognize that only Jesus can save them and to put Jesus and his kingdom first in their lives.

Location:  Classroom 2 (Roundtable Room)

Younger Elementary

Topic:  Loving Jesus

Teachers:  Lana Thames & Kelly Stephenson

Description: Loving the promise of the Savior; meeting him and responding to him. In this time, the children learn that love comes from God, and that he loved us first. Because of his great love for his people,
he sent his Son, Jesus, to save them from their sins. This is a wonderful opportunity to help your children understand what it means to love Jesus—to praise him, believe his Word, follow his commands and show love to others.  Children will be challenged to trust the Savior by remembering, listening, and obeying and seeing the real Jesus.

Location:  Classroom 1(Toddler Room)

Nursery

A nursery is available and will be staffed by workers and volunteers.
