Health & Physical Education
Health & Physical Education
Course description: This class will be a physical education and knowledge-based learning opportunity for 2-4th graders and 5-7th graders. We will examine different aspects of the human body and it's natural ability to operate by God's design. We will also participate in a broad spectrum of movement activities that can enhance academic performance. Your students will enjoy participating in games and sports-related activities. They will find these activities exciting and challenging in order to provide for a lifetime of enjoyment and healthy movement while gaining an understanding of how the human body works.
Educational topics will be grouped by category to include nutrition, anatomy, body mechanics, flexibility & strength training. All activities will be age-appropriate, based on national standards of fitness. This class will include initial assessments in order to provide for an opportunity for each student to measure their own progress throughout the semester. Effort and progress will be the measures by which assessments will be conducted. It is not the intent of this class to promote any particular student so as to encourage the "non-sport minded" child to be willing and able to feel they could become part of this class.
