Christian History from Christ to the Pre-Reformation
Course description: This is a survey course to introduce the student to history of the Christian church from Christ to the pre-Reformation (100-1500 A.D.).
This class is a high school level course which will satisfy the Bible requirement. The target age is 9th-12th grade. Junior high students will find it challenging but should be able to keep up with the coursework. Parents should make the decision if their children are ready to engage in this course. There will be a mid-term and a final exam on the material covered in the class. Students will report on their assigned reading on the final exam.
Course Objectives: The course objective is to acquaint the student with key events, persons, movements, and doctrines that shaped and affected Christianity and the world.

Instructor: Rev. David Stephenson is the pastor at Grace Presbyterian Chelsea, PCA, in Chelsea, AL. He is a graduate from Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando) where he received his Master of Divinity. Before coming to Grace, he was the Director of Camp Westminster in Atlanta, GA, served as the Student Pastor at Cornerstone Community Church in Orlando, FL, and was a church planting fellow at Briarwood. He is married to Kelly, and they have one son named Graham and another on the way.

Time: 11:00-12:30
Grade Levels: 9th - 12th grades (may be appropriate for some 7th-8th graders)
Credit Value: 1/2 credit. This class meets only during the fall semester.
Homework Level: 1-2 hours per week.
Registration fee: $50 nonrefundable (applies toward tuition)

Building Use Fee: The building use fee for this class is $10, not to exceed $100 per family. This fee is payable to Grace Presbyterian Chelsea on the first day of class.
Class Minimum: Minimum of 6 students. If class minimum is not reached, class will be cancelled and registration fee refunded. A maximum of 15 students will be accepted.
